WHO IS THIS FOR?
It is for athletes who aspire to improve their athleticism and improve their sporting performance be it on the field or court!
IS THIS A RUNNING CLASS?
It is a class that is all about speed and athleticism for sports! So if you wan to run fast, change direction efficiently and jump higher? This class is for you.
It includes learning proper technique for sprints, improve coordination and balance. On top of that, our speed specialist will teach proper technique on efficient change of direction that are crucial for sports.
HOW BIG IS EACH CLASS?
Kids: 10-12 pax
Youth: 6-8 pax
Adults: 10-12 pax
Each class are kept small to ensure high touch point with all athletes during the lesson by our speed specialist.
WHAT IS THE CLASS DURATION?
Kids: 1 Hour
Youth: 1.5 Hours
Adults: 1.5 Hours
HOW IS SPEED BENEFICIAL FOR SPORTS PERFORMANCE?
Sprinting is the purest form of power expression! The ability to move fast in a coordinated manner also means overall efficiency and reduced risk of injuries. On top of that, it is usually the millisecond difference in reaction that is the game-changer.
Icing on the cake, sprinting helps to improve fast-twitch muscle fibers and promotes strength gains too!
WHAT IS THE AGE GROUP FOR SPEED CLASS?
Kids: Age 8-11
Youth: Age 12-15
Adults: Age 16 and above
WHAT SPORTS ARE SUITABLE FOR THIS CLASS?
It’s suitable for most sports, if not all sports (includes water sports)! Why? Our speed classes are unique as it teach athletes on how to use their body efficiently to produce power and strength. It is about speed skill and athleticism.
When one is able to move fast, jump further and higher, it also means the body is able to express forces well.
HOW LONG WILL I GET TO SEE IMPROVEMENTS?
Just like any skill, it takes CONSISTENCY of GOOD practice to improve as speed is a highly cognitive (brain) activity. On top of that, every athlete is made different, thus learning phase is highly individualistic.
Lastly, it is also a life long journey (athlete journey) to include proper speed training as their routine. As athletes goes through different phases of development, this may affect their ability to express speed. As the saying goes “Don’t use it, you will lose it” and this is so true for speed.
DO I NEED TO JOIN ALL 3 SESSIONS IN A WEEK?
No. You may choose to attend any of the session within the week and according to your schedule. As such, we have different packages to cater to your needs. More importantly, we strongly encourage athletes to attend at least 1x weekly to reap the benefits.
WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE LESSON?
Engage in proper warm up, proper sprinting drills, speed, jumps and agility training.
